President Washington provides background on a new investigation from the US Department of Justice alleging discriminatory hiring practices. The university as always will work in good faith to cooperate fully and remains confident that facts and evidence show that George Mason does not engage in “illegal DEI.”

University Career Services recently received a Virginia Talent + Opportunity Partnership (V-TOP) subaward for $40,000 for continued development and expansion of internship programs.

As of July 15, 2025, the School of Computing in George Mason's College Engineering and Computing is officially renamed the Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong School of Computing. The school has been renamed to recognize the $20 million gift from the Kimmy Duong Foundation. The financial gift will provide scholarships to undergraduate students enrolled in degree programs offered in the school.

The ������ Police Department recently installed a soft interview room on campus to support survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. With support from Project Beloved: The Molly Jane Mission, a nonprofit organization, the soft interview room provides a critical component of trauma informed care to the campus community.

The College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) at ������ is excited to welcome the inaugural class of students for their Accelerated College and Employability Skills (ACCESS) Academy.

For the past 10 years, the Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution at George Mason has partnered with Shinnyo-en Foundation in their shared mission of developing young people as peacebuilders. ������ has selected Chartwells Higher Education, a national leader in campus dining, as its new dining services provider, following a comprehensive and competitive RFP process. George Mason’s contract with Chartwells begins on July 1 and is expected to transform dining on campus.
