ºÚÁÏÉç passed an important step in the process of reaffirming its accreditation, when the Southern Association of College and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) found the university to be in compliance with its 72 standards of accreditation.

Bret Johnson, assistant professor of accounting at Mason, recently co-authored a paper in Management Science finding that SEC comment letters are leaking out among investors close to the company concerned, who then use it to their advantage. Technically, such information-sharing violates Regulation Fair Disclosure (FD), which prohibits companies from sharing secrets with network partners such as institutional investors and analysts.

Four students from the College’s Department of Global and Community Health received a Community Engagement Medallion for their leadership, service, and activism through partnerships with organizations on and off-campus.

College recognizes teaching excellence and commitment to student success 

This spring a small team of ºÚÁÏÉç students used the Patriot Green Fund to enhance the diversity of the university’s Honey Bee Pollinator Garden. This garden, which sits outside of Roberts House on the Mason’s Fairfax Campus, serves as a biodiverse pollinator haven for the bees currently residing nearby in one of the Honey Bee Initiative’s apiaries.

The first Mason Day took place four years before the university’s first Commencement, and it’s been the event to look forward to ever since.

Sponsored by the Institute for a Sustainable Earth (ISE) and the Business for a Better World Center, the 17 Rooms-U produced dozens of ideas, some of which were combined during follow-up conversations. Groups championing those ideas are now receiving up to $5,000 in seed money to implement their sustainability plans.

Researchers from the Schar School of Policy and Government’s Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence! and the College of Health and Human Services are translating research into actionable guidelines to help probation officers support their clients to achieve better outcomes.
