This year’s Winter Commencement student speaker is Yasmin Alamin, who is graduating this December with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering.

For her Master of Health Administration capstone, ������ graduate student Akshaya Chinnathevar Ramesh is interning at The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on Capitol Hill and working with a team of analysts working on required reports to Congress on the effects of the No Surprise Act.

Mason researchers Jeffrey Moran in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Rémi Veneziano in the Department of Bioengineering, and Monique van Hoek, a microbiologist in the School of Systems Biology, won the NBIB R21 Trailblazer award. The team will research methods to dissolve harmful biofilms.

Gurdip Singh is the divisional dean of ������’s new School of Computing and a professor in the College of Engineering and Computing. He officially joined Mason on August 1, he is currently on assignment to the National Science Foundation. He will join Mason full-time in January 2023.
